Big post: China Glaze Lemon Fizz & Heli-Yum...don't they look edible?

Deze week ontving ik een pakketje met daarin 2 lakjes uit de China Glaze Up & Away collectie, Lemon Fizz en Heli-Yum. Lemon Fizz had ik al, maar ik weet zeker dat mijn zusje hem wil adopteren. Toen ik het pakketje kreeg was ik op mijn werk, maar ik kon de behoefte niet onderdrukken en heb ze heel even uitgeprobeerd over de OPI YDKJ die ik al droeg.

This week I received a package which contained two polishes from the China Glaze Up&Away Collection, Lemon Fizz and Heli-Yum. I already owned Lemon Fizz, but i'm sure my sister would be glad to give it a new home. I was at work when the package arrived, but couldn't resist the urge to try them out and tested them over the OPI YDKJ that I was wearing.

's Avonds heb ik de lakjes gelijk écht geswatched en ze zien er zo lekker uit, ik wil eraan likken! Ik heb een boel foto's gemaakt en die ga ik je allemaal zometeen laten zien. Dus een grote post met lekker veel foto's deze keer, jeeeeeej :-)

Eerst wil ik graag Heli-Yum aan jullie laten zien
Heli-yum doet me denken aan frambozen sorbetijs, zomer, mooie open zomerschoentjes, strand, cocktails...jammie

First I would like to show you Heli-Yum
Heli-Yum reminds me of raspberry sorbet, summer, fancy summersandals, beach, cocktails...yummie

Kleur

Roodachtig-roze creme, maar meer roze, het is een heldere vrolijke kleur en de lak is heel mooi glimmend, op de foto's draag ik geen topcoat. Het lijkt alsof je lipgloss op je nagels draagt.

Colour
reddish-pink creme, more pink then red, it's a bright uplifting colour and the polish is extremely glossy, I wear no topcoat on these pictures. It looks like lipgloss on your nails.
Applicatie
De lak smeert fijn, lekker glad. Omdat de lak een klein beetje transparant is heb je minimaal 2 lagen nodig voor een mooi resultaat, maar dan kan je wel nog een klein beetje je nagel door de lak heen zien. Daarom heb ik op deze foto's 3 lagen op voor een perfect resultaat.

Application
Nice, smooth application. Because the polish is a bit sheer you need at least 2 coats for a good result., but you can have some visible nail lines. That's why I wear 3 coats for a perfect result.
Heli-yum is volgens mij ook heel geschikt voor op blije zomer teentjes

En dan heb ik natuurlijk nog Lemon Fizz voor jullie

Lemon fizz doet me denken aan lente, krokussen, paas-kuikentjes en aan bananenmilkshakes.

Kleur
Lemon Fizz is lichtgeel creme, maar toch is het een heldere opvallende kleur die prachtig glanzend is. Ik had nooit gedacht dat ik dit me leuk zou vinden staan, maar nu kan ik niet wachten tot de lente begint!

Colour
Lemon Fizz is a light yellow creme, but still stands out and it's also very glossy. I never thought light yellow would look good on me, but it does! I can't wait till spring!

Applicatie

De applicatie van deze lak was wat lastiger, de lak is erg dun en je ziet duidelijk wat strepen in de lak. Voor een glad resultaat heb je minimaal 3 lagen nodig, misschien zelfs 4. Op deze foto's draag ik 3 lagen. Ik raad aan eerst twee dunne lagen op te doen en als laatste een dikke laag om het glad te krijgen.

Application
Application of this polish was a bit tricky, the polish is a bit sheer and it's streeky. For a beautiful result you need at least 3 coats, maybe even 4. On these pictures I wear 3 coats. I advise you to apply 2 thin coats of polish and finish it with a nice thick coat to even it out.

OPI - You Don't Know Jacques

Deze week heb ik OPI You Don't Know Jacques voor het eerst gedragen. Hij komt uit de OPI Collection de La France van 2008. Jullie hebben 'm allemaal ongetwijfeld al ontelbaar keren gezien, je hebt 'm vast ook zelf, maar voor mij was dit de eerste keer dat ik deze lak droeg, dus wil ik het graag met jullie delen. Ik zal er niet te veel woorden aan verspillen, want dat is al genoeg gedaan.

This week I wore OPI You Don't Know Jacques for the first Time. It's a polish from the 2008 OPI Collection de la France. You all probably have seen this polish numerous times, you probably own it yourself, but for me it's the first time I wore it so Í'd like to share that with you. I won't be wasting too much words on it, because that has already been done.

Kleur

Bruin? Grijs? Taupe? Ik heb taupe even op wikipedia.org opgezocht en dit is de beschrijving van de kleur : "Taupe is de aanduiding van een grijsbruine kleur. Het woord 'taupe' is ontleend aan de latijnse naam voor een mol, Talpa Europaea. Taupe is een vage, niet-wetenschappelijke benaming voor ongeveer alle grijsbruine, bruingrijze of warm grijze kleuren"

Nou, dan weet je welke kleur het is :-)

Colour

Brown? Gray? Taupe? I searched taupe on wikipedia.org and this is their description of this colour: "Taupe refers to a graishbrown colour. The word 'taupe' derives from the Latin name for the European Mole, Talpa Europaea. Taupe is a vague, non-scientific term which may be used to almost any grayish-brown, brownish-gray or warm gray color".

Well, now you know which color it is :-)

Applicatie:

Zoals de meeste lakken van OPI heb je meerdere lagen nodig om een mooi dekkend resultaat te krijgen. Na 3 lagen is het resultaat prachtig glad, glimmend en streeploos. Ziet er echt geweldig uit.

Application

Like most OPI polishes you need multiple layers to get opacity. After 3 layers the result is wonderfullly smooth, shiney and streekless. Looks amazing!

Normaal gesproken hou ik meer van opvallende, spetterende kleuren. YDKJ is alles behalve spetterend, maar toch vind ik het een mooie unieke lak en vind ik 'm erg flatterend. Mocht je hem nog niet hebben en je krijgt de kans om er één te kopen dan raad ik deze zeker aan.

Usually I like more outstanding, flashy colours. YDKJ is everything but flashy, but it is a very pretty and unique polish which is very flattering. If you don't own it yet and you get the chance to buy one I advise you to do so!

Misa - Over the Edge

Een post met een wat oudere foto omdat ik een gebroken nagel heb :-(
Zie ook mijn vorige post met de Skittles van China Glaze Up&Away waarin ik mn wijsvinger probeer te verstoppen met mijn duim.
Maar ik ben blij dat ik nu deze foto's van Misa On the Edge kan laten zien, het is een geweldige kleur die ik graag met jullie deel.

daglicht / daylight

Kleur
Prachtig diep blauw creme. De kleur is wat meer helder bij daglicht en bij lamplicht is het een hele mooie donkerblauw.

Colour
Beautiful deep darkblue creme. The colour is more bright in daylight and in artificial light it's a beautiful darkblue.

Applicatie
Ik hou ervan! Één laag is dekkend en een perfect streeploos glad resultaat heb je al met 2 lagen. Op deze foto's draag ik twee lagen met topcoat, maar eigenlijk heeft deze lak geen topcoat nodig, het is glanzend genoeg van zichzelf.

Application
I love it! One coat is opaque and you have a perfect streekless smooth result after two coats. On these pictures I'm wearing two coats with topcoat, but actually this polish doesn't need topcoat, it's shiney enough by itself.

En omdat ik mijn China Glaze Wireless Holographic Top Coat graag gebruik om een manicure van een dag of 2 op te frissen, heb ik daar ook nog twee fotootjes van.

And because I like to use my China Glaze Wireless Holographic Top Coat to refresh a manicure thats about a day or two old, I've got pictures of that also

Beneden: kunstlicht / below: artificial light
Als je van blauw houdt kan deze lak niet ontbreken in je collectie!
If you like blue you want this colour in your stash!
