Sally Hansen - Purple Potion, a magical color.

Don't you just love the name of this polish? Purple Potion. The purple with blue has something magical about it. I can picture a sexy evil witch stirring in a couldron, brewing a potion that looks like this and turnes you into a snake if you drink it.

Vind je dit niet een geweldige naam voor deze lak? Purple Potion. Er is iets magisch aan deze paars met blauwe kleurencombinatie. Ik zie gelijk een sexy gemene heks voor me die ik een ketel staat te roeren waarin ze een vergif mengt dat eruit ziet als deze lak en wat je in een slang verandert als je het opdrinkt.

Color
Purple with a strong blue shimmer. It's really pretty and in my opinion it's not a duochrome because it doesn't shift colors, its just purple and blue all the time.

Kleur
Paars met een hele duidelijke blauwe shimmer. Het is erg mooi en naar mijn mening is het geen duochrome want de kleur verandert niet echt, het is gewoon de heletijd paars met blauw.

Application
It was a bit of a challenge to apply it neatly; the polish is a bit goopy and despite that still needs 3 coats for good coverage. The brush a bit wonky and uneven and I got some streeks. But I like a challenge if I know the result is going to be enchanting like this.

Applicatie
Het was een beetje een uitdaging om deze lak mooi op te brengen; de lak is wat stroperig en ondanks dat had ik toch drie lagen nodig voor een mooi resultaat. het borsteltje is wiebelig en er steken wat langere haartjes uit en het liet strepen achter. Maar goed, een uitdaging is niet zo erg als je weet dat het resultaat er zo betoverend uit komt te zien.

I took a picture in direct sunlight because I thought it would show the blue shimmer very well, but it turnes out it actually shows the basecolor best. Not sure if that's useful information, but I'll post it any way.

Ik had een foto in direct zonlicht gemaakt omdat ik dacht dat je de blauwe shimmer dan goed zou zien, maar het blijkt dat je juist de basiskleur heel goed ziet zo. Geen idee of je wat hebt aan deze informatie, maar ik post de foto toch.

It would have been awesome if I had extremely long witch-like nails to show this polish on.
But a polish like this looks good on nails of any length of shape.

Het zou echt tegek zijn geweest als ik extreem lange heksen-nagels had om deze lak op te laten zien.
Maar een lak als dit staat goed op nagels van iedere lengte of vorm.

Misa - Fashionista, a re-review.

One of the very first reviews I did on this blog was about Misa's Fashionista. Back then ( over a year ago ) I still took pictures with my cellphone and didn't do it justice. So when I wore Fashionista last week I decided I should do a re-review of this lovely polish.

Eén van de allereerste reviews die ik deed op deze blog ging over Misa's Fashionista. Destijds ( meer dan een jaar geleden ) maakte ik nog foto's met mijn mobiele telefoon en die deden deze lak totaal geen recht. Dus toen ik Fashionista vorige week droeg, besloot ik dat het tijd was voor een re-review van deze mooie lak.

Color
It's a dusty lilac but in artificial lighting it looks a bit mauve-lilac. But in whatever light you see this, it's very beautiful.

Kleur
Het is een 'dusty' lila. Deze kleur lijkt onder lamplicht wat meer oudroze-lila. Maar in ieder licht is deze lak even prachtig.

Application
Like almost every Misa cream it applies like a dream, I wish all polishes had this amazing formula.

Applicatie
Zoals vrijwel iedere creme lak van Misa ging deze ook weer als een droom op mn nagels, ik wou dat alle nagellaken zo'n heerlijk lakten.

There are similar polishes out there, I don't own any of them, but If you get the chance to buy one, you won't regret it if you do!

Er zijn tegenwoordig een boel lakken die hierop lijken, Ik heb er verder niet één van, maar als je de kans krijgt dan raad ik je aan om er één te kopen, je krijgt er geen spijt van!
