China Glaze - Naughty and Nice

I don't like the classic greens and reds that are usually in the Christmas collections. So I rarely buy something from a Christmas collection. Last year a friend bought me this polish from the " 'Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice" collection and I have to say that it's just perfect! Not the classic red you would expect for the holidays!

Ik hou niet van die standaard groene en rode kleuren die je meestal in de kerst collecties ziet. Daarom koop ik zelden iets uit een kerstcollectie. Vorig jaar heeft een vriendin deze lak voor me gekocht, de lak komt uit de collectie " 'Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice" en ik vind 'm echt perfect. Niet de standaard rode lak die je verwacht met de feestdagen!

Color
Very dark red, maybe a slight bit to the purple side. The more coats you use the more black it looks.
Lovely glossy creme finish.
I really like this color, it's so vampy!

Kleur
Heel erg donker rood, misschien zit er wel een beetje paars in. Hoe meer lagen je gebruikt hoe zwarter de kleur lijkt. Hele mooie glanzende creme finish.
Ik hou echt van deze vampier-achtige kleurtjes!

Application
If you apply two coats you might not get the most even application, but the red base shows more.
If you apply three thin coats you get the result as seen above, wich I prefer.
Very smooth and streekless polish.

Applicatie
Als je twee laagjes opdoet heb je misschien niet het meest gelijkmatige resultaat, maar dan zie je wel beter dat het een rode lak is.
Als je drie dunne laagjes opdoet dan krijg je het resultaat zoals hierboven, wat ik het mooiste vind.
Lakt lekker makkelijk en zonder strepen.

OPI - What's With The Cattitude?

I wanted this polish not only for the lovely bright lightblue color, but also for it's name, I like the word Cattitude :-)  As a 'catlady' I needed this polish badly. So Rebecca bought it for me and sent it in our swap. I wore it twice since, yes TWICE ( that's alot with over 40 untrieds in the top drawer of my Helmer )

Ik wilde deze lak zo graag hebben, niet alleen om de helder lichtblauwe kleur, maar ook echt om de naam. Cattitude is echt één van de beste combinatie van woorden ooit :-) Als een 'kattenvrouwtje' had ik deze lak gewoon nodig. Dus Rebecca heeft deze lak voor me gekocht en in onze swap naar me toegestuurd. Sindsdien heb ik deze lak al twee keer gedragen, ja TWEE keer ( dat is echt vaak als je je beseft dat ik nog minimaal 40 ongebruikte lakjes in de bovenste lade van mijn Helmer heb staan )

Color
Light blue, not to pale though, it's bright enough to have a bit of an edge to it. Especially if you have a bit of a tan this polish is a real eyecatcher

Kleur
Lichtblauw, niet te licht gelukkig, het is fel genoeg om toch een beetje spannend te zijn. Vooral als je een beetje een tintje hebt valt deze lak echt op.

Application.
I expected this one to be more opaque, the first coat was really sheer. I always use thinner coats, so it needed three coats for the perfect coverage. If you apply your polish a bit thicker you probably have the same result with two coats. I love how it smooths out so perfectly after application, no streeks and it's extremely glossy!

Applicatie
Ik verwachtte dat deze lak meer dekkend zou zijn, de eerste laag was redelijk doorzichtig. Ik gebruik altijd dunnere laagjes, dus ik had wel 3 lagen nodig voor een perfect dekkend resultaat. Als je iemand bent die dikkere lagen lak gebruikt zal je genoeg hebben aan twee lagen. Ik was echt onder de indruk van hoe de lak direct na opbrengen prachtig glad rechttrekt, geen streep te zien en wat is het extreem glimmend!

On the picture above you can really see how smooth and glossy this polish is ( this is before topcoat! ).
This polish is not something really special, the color and finish are not something we haven't seen before, but this polish still a winner in my book!

Op de foto hierboven kan je echt goed zien hoe mooi glad en glimmend deze lak is ( deze foto is gemaakt voordat ik topcoat opdeed! ).
Deze lak is eigenlijk niet heel speciaal, de kleur en de creme finish zijn niet iets wat we nog nooit gezien hebben, ondanks dat vind ik het toch echt een top lakje!

Catrice - Blue Cara Ciao

It should be summer right now, but instead has been raining, grey and cloudy for weeks. So I decided to swatch a 'regular' polish that doesn't need alot of sun to show up well on pictures. Can't wait for the sun to return because I have alot of polishes that I need to swatch who benefit from sunlight.

Het zou nu zomer moeten zijn, maar in plaats daarvan hebbenw e al weken lang regen, grijze lucht en dikke wolken. Dus ik besloot een normaal lakje te swatchen die niet zo veel licht nodig heeft om goed op de foto over te komen. Maar ik kan echt niet wachten tot de zon weer gaat schijnen, want ik heb een boel lakjes die ik wil swatchen die het beste tot hun recht komen in zonlicht.

Color
Blue creme, not too light, not too dark. Very glossy.
I don't think this color is something special, but it's great for a base for some stamping or other nail-decorations.

Kleur
Blauwe creme, niet heel licht, niet heel donker. Heel erg glanzend.
Dit is geen bijzonder kleurtje ofzo, maar het is een prima basis voor stempelen of andere nagelversieringen.

Application
The best thing about this polish is the application. It's a smooth, very easy to apply polish that's perfect in one coat. Yes, one coat is all you need.

Applicatie
Het allerbeste van deze lak is de applicatie. Het is een heerlijke lak, brengt makkelijk aan, het droogt glad en glanzend op en het is perfect in één laag. Jaja één laagje.

I'm aware of the messy cuticles, I swatched some polishes earlier, they suffered badly from it and absorbed some color despite the generous amounts of Lemony Flutter cuticlecram. Swatching is hard on my hands. Ah well, I don't think anyone will loose sleep over it, I won't  :-)

Ik ben inderdaad op de hoogte dat mn nagelriemen er niet al te smakelijk uitzien, ze waren ondanks de ruime lagen Lemony Flutter nagelriem crème droog en gescheurd door dat ik wat vaker geswatched had die dag. Swatchen is echt de pest voor mn handen. Achja, ik denk niet dat je er minder om slaapt vannacht, ik niet in ieder geval :-)

Catrice - Princess for a Day

Today I have Catrice Princess For A Day for you. When I was little I never wanted to be a princess, not even for a day. Princesses have to be nice and clean, do as they are told and (oh the horror) they have to kiss the prince. I was a tomboy, refused to wear dresses and loved getting myself dirty by climbing trees or digging worms up from the dirt. And kissing boys is something I enjoyed a few years later ;-)

Vandaag laat ik jullie Catrice Princess Fr A Day zien. Toen ik klein was wilde ik nooit een prinsesje zijn, zelfs niet voor een dag. Prinsesjes moeten altijd lief en schoon zijn, netjes doen wat ze verteld worden en (ohh verschrikkelijk ) ze moesten de prins kussen. Ik was een stoer wijffie, weigerde jurkjes te dragen en maakte mezelf maar al te graag smerig door in bomen te klimmen of wormen op te graven uit de modder. En jongens kussen vond ik pas jaren later leuk :-)

Great, it looks a bit jelly-like to me, but it builds up nicely. This is three thin coats, so two thicker coats could also look nice. And what I noticed most about this polish is how neat it applied, I hardly had to do any cleanup! ( I'm usually a messy nailpainter )

Applicatie
Super, het lijkt een beetje op een jelly, maar het dekt prima met meerdere laagjes. Dit zijn drie dunnere lagen, maar twee dikkere lagen had vast ook gekund. Wat me het meeste opviel aan deze lak is dat ik het zo netjes kon opbrengen, ik hoefde vrijwel niets schoon te maken! ( meestal ben ik een zeer slordige lakker )

I don't own many pink polishes, but I really like pinks especially as a pedi. Hmmm, I need to change my pedi this week, maybe I'll try this one. Then I'm sort of a little princess anyway.

Ik heb niet zo veel roze lakken, maar ik vind roze echt wel leuk, vooral als een pedi. Hmmmm, ik wilde deze week mijn pedi wisselen, misschien gebruik ik deze wel. Ben ik toch nog een beetje een prinsesje.

Essence - You Belong To Me

Every time I see the name of this polish I think of this song. While editing the pictures I had this song constantly in my head. The polish and the song are a perfect match, they are both very lovely and cute.

Iedere keer als ik de naam van deze lak zie dan moet ik denken aan dat lied. Toen ik mijn foto's aan het bewerken was heb ik dus ook de hele tijd dit liedje in mn hoofd gehad. De lak en het lied passen perfect bij elkaar, ze zijn allebei erg lief en schattig.

Color
Light blue with a hint of green in it.
It just looks so fresh and clean, I really like it.

Kleur
Heel licht blauw met een beetje een groene tint erin.
Het ziet er zo lekker fris en schoon uit, ik vind het een mooi kleurtje

Application
Could be a onecoater if you use a thicker coat.
I prefer to use very thin coats so I did two.
The brush is very nice and the polish gides on. Nice!

Applicatie
Het zou in één laag dekkend kunnen zijn als je een dikker laagje opdoet.
Ik gebruik altijd dunne laagjes dus ik heb er twee gedaan.
Zit echt een fijn borsteltje aan en de lak glijdt gewoon je nagel op. Fijn!

The Essence Color & Go polishes come in small bottles and they are cheap, but the quality is really good.
So even if you are broke you can still afford to have gorgeous painted nails with Essence!

De lakjes van Essence Color & Go zitten in een klein potje en ze kosten erg weinig, maar de kwaliteit is echt wel goed. Dus zelfs als je blut bent kan je je nog wel wat prachtige gelakte nageltjes met Essence veroorloven.

Misa - Fashionista, a re-review.

One of the very first reviews I did on this blog was about Misa's Fashionista. Back then ( over a year ago ) I still took pictures with my cellphone and didn't do it justice. So when I wore Fashionista last week I decided I should do a re-review of this lovely polish.

Eén van de allereerste reviews die ik deed op deze blog ging over Misa's Fashionista. Destijds ( meer dan een jaar geleden ) maakte ik nog foto's met mijn mobiele telefoon en die deden deze lak totaal geen recht. Dus toen ik Fashionista vorige week droeg, besloot ik dat het tijd was voor een re-review van deze mooie lak.

Color
It's a dusty lilac but in artificial lighting it looks a bit mauve-lilac. But in whatever light you see this, it's very beautiful.

Kleur
Het is een 'dusty' lila. Deze kleur lijkt onder lamplicht wat meer oudroze-lila. Maar in ieder licht is deze lak even prachtig.

Application
Like almost every Misa cream it applies like a dream, I wish all polishes had this amazing formula.

Applicatie
Zoals vrijwel iedere creme lak van Misa ging deze ook weer als een droom op mn nagels, ik wou dat alle nagellaken zo'n heerlijk lakten.

There are similar polishes out there, I don't own any of them, but If you get the chance to buy one, you won't regret it if you do!

Er zijn tegenwoordig een boel lakken die hierop lijken, Ik heb er verder niet één van, maar als je de kans krijgt dan raad ik je aan om er één te kopen, je krijgt er geen spijt van!

OPI - Jade is the new Black + Kiko Sparkle Touch

Here is my mani from a few weeks ago, I was really liked how it turned out and wore it untill it chipped ( which takes longer than usual with OPI ).

Hier is mijn mani van een paar weken geleden, ik was erg blij met het resultaat en heb het gedragen totdat het chipte ( wat langer duurt dan anders met OPI ).
Kleur
Jade is the new Black is de perfecte kleur groen met een blauwe ondertoon, deze lak is prachtig!

Color
Jade is the new Black is the perfect green color with a blue undertone, it's gorgeous!
Applicatie
Perfect, met twee lagen is deze lak dekkend en streeploos. Droogt redelijk snel en met een mooie glans.

Application
Perfect, this polish is opaque and streekless with only two coats. Dries pretty fast and is very glossy.
Kiko Sparkle Touch
Twee lieve vriendinnen hebben van hun vakantie in Malaga (Spanje) een paar Kiko nagellakjes meegenomen. Toen ik deze lila Sparkle Touch zag wist ik dat ik deze het eerst wilde proberen over groen en het resultaat is nog mooier dan ik verwacht had! Met één laag heb je al het mooie effect wat je hier op de foto's ziet! Zelfs zonder fel zonlicht zie je de kleine paarse glimmertje heel goed.

Two lovely friends got me some Kiko nailpolishes from their holiday in Malaga (Spain). When I saw this lilac Sparkle Touch I knew I wanted to see this one over green and the result is much better then I expected. With only one coat I had the beautiful effect you see here on the pictures! Even without direct sunlight the tiny purple sparklies are very noticable.
Jade heeft geen versieringen nodig, maar ik werd wel heel vrolijk van deze mani! Kijk het eens gezellig glimmen allemaal!
Zo en nu ga ik eens bedenken welke mani ik vandaag ga opdoen, keuzes, keuzes...

Jade doesn't need any decoration, but this mani made me very happy. Just look at the fun sparklies!
And now I'm going to think about the mani I'll be doing today, choises, choises...

Glamorous French with Hema nr 81

Normaal gebruik ik geen nailart, het duurt me vaak te lang, maar ik was een beetje aan het spelen op een luie zondagochtend en dit is het geworden. Dit was echt een leuke mani om te doen en ook nog erg makkelijk. Dus ik denk dat ik in de toekomst wel vaker zoiets ga proberen.

Usually I don't use nailart, I often think it's too much work, but I was playing around on a lazy sunday morning and this is the result. I really was a fun and easy mani to do, so I think I'll be trying something similar real soon!

Kleur
Hema nr. 81 is een aqua blauwe kleur en heel erg glanzend
Voor de french tip gebruikte ik China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out, een licht blauwe holo.

Colour

Applicatie
Ook deze Hema lak had een heerlijke applicatie, de lak was dekkend met 2 lagen, maar ik gebruikte er 3 voor de macro-shot. Als je de lak opdoet zie je hoe deze meteen glad en streeploos over de nagel verspreidt.

Application
This polish had a wonderful application, it was opaque with two coats, but I used three for the macro-shot. When you apply the polish it immediately evens out in a smooth, streekless and glossy layer.Nadat ik de nagels gelakt had met de Hema lak heb ik er met de hand een french tip op gelakt. Ik dacht dat het lastiger zou zijn, maar dat ging vrij makkelijk en natuurlijk valt het met deze holo ook niet zo op als het niet zo netjes is. Daarna heb ik wat licht blauwe steentjes in de natte lak gedrukt en afgelakt met een topcoat.

After I polished my nails with the Hema polish I handpainted the french tips. I thought that would be more difficult but it was really easy, ofcourse the holo was very forgiving for small flaws. After that I pressed some light blue rhinestones in the wet polish and applied a topcoat.En nog een foto van de lak zonder versieringen, ook héél mooi

Cute Konad with Hema nr. 210

Ik heb wat gespeeld met mn ieniemienie Konad-setje ( bestaat uit een stampertje, schraper, 2 mini Konad-lakjes en plaat M3 ) en ik heb het idee dat het wat beter gaat.
Als basis heb ik Hema One Coat nr. 210 gebruikt en ik heb gestampt met China Glaze Emotion

I played around with my teenytiny Konad set ( scraper, stamper, 2 mini Konad polishes, plate M3) and I think it's getting a little bit better.
For the base I used Hema One Coat nr. 210 and I stamped with China Glaze Emotion. (Shown with the beautiful flowers my BF gave me)

Kleur
Hema: Roodachtig roze, donker roze, ik heb geen idee hoe je deze kleur omschrijft hahaha, ik heb even op wikipedia kleuren roze opgezocht en ik geloof dat 'cerise' het dichtst in de buurt komt.

Colour
Reddish pink, dark pink, I don't know what to call this color hahaha, I wikipedia-ed the colours pink and I believe cerise is the closest I could find. Applicatie
Perfect, vrijwel dekkend in één dikke laag, maar ik draag twee dunne lagen. Geen strepen, prachtig glad en glanzend resultaat.

Application
Perfect, almost opaque in one thick coat, but I used two thinner coats. No streaks, beautiful smooth and shiney result.

Na een paar keer spelen met mijn ieniemienie Konad setje ben ik plaat M3 nu al zat, de afbeeldingen zijn zo...saai. Ik ben toe aan een echte plaat, dus ik ga binnenkort maar eens kijken wat Konad allemaal te bieden heeft. Ook heb ik van Susie de tip gekregen om de plates van Bundle Monster te bestellen, meet plates voor minder geld. Keuzes keuzes, ik ga nog even bedenken wat ik allemaal wil.

After playing with my teenytiny Konad set I'm already bored with plate M3, the images are so...boring. I'm ready for a real plate so I'm going to check out what Konad has to offer. Susie gave me a tip on the Bundle Monster plates, more plates for less money. Choises choises, going to think about what to buy.

Lovely Lilac - Hema Nr. 83 and Hema Matte topcoat

Afgelopen weekend bedacht ik me dat ik, als Nederlandse blogger, eigenlijk veel te weinig Nederlandse nagellakken aan jullie laat zien.
Dus daar ga ik bij deze verandering in brengen en heb een mooie Hema lak aan jullie te laten zien.

Last weekend I thought that I, as a Dutch blogger, am showing you way too little Dutch polishes. So hereby I'm going to change that and I have a lovely polish from Hema to show you.

Op deze foto zie je Hema Nr. 83 met Hema matte topcoat en een leuke sticker.
Toen ik deze lak vorige week kocht zei de cassière dat ze deze lak die dag net nieuw hadden. Ik heb ook een hele mooie blauwe gekocht, die laat ik ook snel zien.

When I bought this polish last week the cassier told me this polish was just in store that day. I also bought a beautiful blue polish, I'm showing you that one soon.
Hema is a Dutch warehouse which sells only products of their own brand. They sell everything from condoms to curtains and are known for their low prices and good quality. Hema has a large variety of polishes in their basic collection and sometimes have some seasonal collections. This season they have some fun little bottles of neons and a small collection of pastels ( this polish is from that last collection ).
Hier zie je de lak met matte topcoat zonder decals, zie je hoe mooi glad het resultaat is? Ik ben niet de grootste fan van matte lak, maar dit ziet er heerlijk zacht en knuffelbaar uit ( ja, ik noemde mijn nagels knuffelbaar )

Here you have the mattified purple polish without decals, I'm not the biggest fan of matte polish but look how smooth, soft and huggable this looks ( yes, I said huggable about my nails )
Applicatie Matte topcoat was geweldig, de lak was heel vloeibaar, als water, het droogde heel snel en werd heel mooi matte.

The appliaction of the matte topcoat was amazing, it was very liquid, like water, it dries super fast and became perfectly matte.
En hier ze je de lak zoals ze is zonder topcoat en versieringen.
Een prachtige kleur lila met hoogglans.
Applicatie was super, de lak was vrij dun maar met twee lagen had ik een glad en streeploos resultaat. Mocht je denken dat je strepen ziet op de foto, dat zijn de lijnen in mijn nagel.

It's a beautiful lilac colour with high shine.
Application was amazing, the polish was rather thin but with two coats I had a smooth and streekless result. If you think you see streeks on the picture, those are the ridges in my nail.

Catrice - I Scream Peach!... PEACH!!!

Kijk me eens diep in mijn ogen en beken; wie van jullie nagellak-verslaafden heeft de nieuwe Catrice-collectie bij mijn Kruitvat twee weken lang opgekocht??? Schaam je, ik wens je een vieze klonterige nagellak toe.
Geintje, afgelopen maandag waren de schappen weer halfvol en heb ik toch nog 4 kleurtjes kunnen bemachtigen. Ik heb woensdag I Scream Peach! gedragen.

Look me deep in the eye and confess; who of you polish-addicts sold out the new Catrice-collection at my drugstore for two weeks in a row??? You should be ashamed of yourself, I wish you ugly lumpy polish!
Just kidding, last monday the shelves were half-full and I managed to get my hands on 4 colours. On wednesday I wore I Scream Peach!(foto bij daglicht / picture by daylight)
Kleur
Ik vind het een oranje creme ( de eerste foto is het meest kleurecht ). Bij peach denk ik toch aan een meer roze-oranje kleur, maar naar mijn mening is dit gewoon een hele saaie kleur oranje. Ik heb geprobeerd het nog wat pitterer te maken met stickers, maar na één dag heb ik het er al vanaf gehaald.

Colour
I think it's a orange creme( the first picture is the most colour accurate ). When I hear peach I think of a more pink kind of orange, but in my opinion this is just a boring kind of orange. I tried to spice it up with some decals, but I removed the mani after one day wear.

Applicatie
Redelijk, de lak dekte in twee lagen, maar ik vond 'm wat dik en streperig en had een derde laag nodig om die glad te trekken. Zat wel een fijn kwastje aan.

Application
Average, the polish was opaque in two coats, but it was a bit thick and streeky so I needed a third coat to even it out.
Ik denk niet dat ik deze lak nog een keer ga dragen, hij stond me echt niet en vond het niet fijn om deze lak een hele dag te dragen. Dat kan gebeuren, ik hoop dat ik de volgende keer meer geluk heb!

I really don't think I will wear this polish again, it didn't look good on me and I didn't like wearing this polish for a whole day. Well that can happen, Better luck next time!

China Glaze - Something Sweet with a little Millennium

Dit weekend wilde ik een lichte, maar toch opvallende nagellak op. Dus koos ik voor China Glaze Something Sweet uit de Up&Away Collectie. Toen ik 'm op had vond ik het toch niet zo goed bij me passen en ik was te lui om helemaal overnieuw te lakken, dus heb ik er met Millennium een french van gemaakt. Uitendelijk vond ik het erg leuk geworden.

This weekend I wanted a light colour that still stands out. So I chose China Glaze Something Sweet from the Up&Away collection. When I had a full mani with it, I decided I didn't like it on me. I was too lazy to do the whole mani over so I made a french of it with Millennium. I liked the end result.
Kleur
Licht roze creme. Het is een pastel, maar toch zit er ook wel pit in.

Colour
Licht pink creme. It's a pastel, but it does have some spunk in it.
Applicatie
Dit is niet een lakje dat je even snel opdoet. Het is een dunne lak en het geeft snel een streperig resultaat. Voor een glad resultaat kan je het beste 3 dunne lagen opdoen, tussendoor de lagen laten drogen en aflakken met een laag topcoat.

Application
This is not a polish you just put on quickly. It's runny and it gets streeky very fast. For a smooth result I advise you to put on three very thin layers, let the polish dry in between and finish with a nice topcoat.
Het stickertje met de tribal is een overblijfsel van de jaren 90. Dit droeg ik toen ik nog op de middelbare school zat ( au, dat is lang geleden! ).
Ik heb deze mani gedragen van vrijdagavond tot maandagavond en had maar een klein beetje tipwear.

The decal with the tribal is a left-over from the 90's. I wore this when I was still in highschool ( ouch, that's a long time ago ).
I wore this mani from friday evening until monday evening and only had some slight tipwear.
