WinterWonderland-nails with Herôme - Ottawa

I do not like cold weather and I hate it when it's raining, so winter is not my favourite season at all, but I do really looove seeing freshly fallen snow. It looks magical and makes the world look like a WinterWonderland from the storybooks used to read when I was a little girl. This polish from the new wintercollection of World Inspired Colors by Herôme looks like that freshly fallen snow.

Ik hou niet van de kou en al helemaal niet van regen, dus winter is niet mijn favoriete seizoen, maar ik vind het wel prachtig om net gevallen sneeuw te zien. Dan ziet de wereld er zo magisch uit, net als in de sprookjesboeken die ik vroeger las. Deze lak uit de nieuwe wintercollectie van World Inspired Colors door Herôme ziet eruit als die vers gevallen sneeuw.

Color
White shimmer, dries with a slightly matte finish. It really looks like frozen snow on your nails. Brrr, getting chilly just looking at it ;-)

Kleur
Wit shimmer en droogt een beetje matte op. Het ziet er echt uit als bevroren sneeuw op je nagels. Brrr, ik krijg het gewoon fris als ik ernaar kijk ;-)

Application
I have 3 polishes from Herôme, they all have a little bit thick texture and a nice brush wich makes it easy to apply. Eventhough this polish is a bit thick, it's not very opaque. I used three coats and I still have a visible nail line. It was less visible in real life, you all know the curse of macro-shot pictures.

Applicatie
Ik heb 3 lakken van Herôme en ze hebben allemaal een redelijk dikke substantie en een fijn borsteltje, waardoor je de lak netjes en precies kan aanbrengen. Ondanks dat de lak een beetje dik is, is het niet heel dekkend. Ik gebruikte drie laagjes en je kan nog steeds mijn nagel er doorheen zien. Het was in het echt trouwens veel minder zichtbaar, zoals je weet is dat de vloek van foto's gemaakt met macro-functie.

When I applied a glossy topcoat the shimmer in the polish really sparkled, it almost looked like a different polish then. I have to admit that I was tempted to apply a matte topcoat instead because the matte finish looked somehow right for this polish. I'll certainly try that next time, maybe I can find a snowflake konad or something to go with that...

Toen ik er topcoat overheen deed zag ik pas hoe glimmend de shimmer in deze lak is, het leek bijna wel een andere lak. Ik moet wel bekennen dat ik erg getwijfeld heb of ik er niet een matte topcoat overheen zou doen, het leek me erg passend bij deze lak. de volgende keer ga ik dat zeker proberen, misschien bestaat er wel een Konad met sneeuwvlokjes die ik erbij kan doen...

I usually don't wear white polishes without somekind of nailart over it, most white polishes look like you've painted tippex (white correction fluid) on your nails. This is a white I could wear alone.

I draag normaal nooit witte nagellak zonder iets van nailart erop, meeste witte lakken zien eruit alsof je tippex op je nagels hebt gesmeerd. Deze witte lak zou ik ook zonder versieringen dragen.

The silver holographic stickers I used are from Viva La Nails.

90 dots on H&M Love at First Sight

I had some time on my hands in my vacation and used it to try out my new dottingtools ( $1 on Ebay). The rusult looked so summery and happy. I loved it every single minute it was on my nails.

Tijdens mijn vakantie had ik wat tijd over en gebruikte die om mijn nieuwe dottingtools ($1 op Ebay) te gebruiken. Het resultaat was echt zo zomers en vrolijk. De paar dagen dat ik het droeg was ik helemaal verliefd op mn nagels.

LOL after posting I saw I spelled 'First' wrong in this pic. Ah well. Can't win 'em all.

De Basis
De basis is witte lak van H&M, Love at First Sight. Deze lak is vrij dik en dekt fantastisch, daarom is deze perfect om te gebruiken als basis voor neons of nailart.

The Base
For the basecolor I used H&M Love at First sight. It's a white cream, a littlebit thick and has great coverage. This polish is great as a base for neons or nailart.

Terwijl ik deze blogpost aan het schrijven bent regent en blikemt het buiten, helaas nog geen rollende donder, maar misschien komt dat nog. Er iets iets aan onweer wat ik prachtig vind, vooral als ik lekker warm binnen zit met een kat op schoot en ondertussen naar buiten kijk en af en toe de hele lucht zie oplichten. Ik ga even een lekker kopje thee zetten en met de katten naar buiten kijken.

While writing this blogpost it's raining and lightning outside, no rolling thunder yet, but I hope that wil come too. There's something about a storm that just fascinates me, I like storm, especially when I'm inside, looking out, with a cat in my lap and seeing the whole sky light up.

Happy Easter! Easter-egg nails

Fijne Pasen allemaal!
Ik hou niet van chocolade, maar ik vind wel dat chocolade paaseitjes er zo leuk uitzien. Dus heb ik voor Pasen een mani gedaan die is geïnspireerd door paaseitjes. Ik vind het zelf erg leuk geworden, het is erg vrolijk en lente-achtig.

I don't like chocolat, but I do like how chocolat easter-eggs look like. So for Easter I did a easteregg-inspired mani. I like how it tuned out, it looks very happy and spring-y.
Ik heb gebruikt: China Glaze Lemon Fizz (geel), China Glaze Something Sweet (roze), China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint (mint) and Sephora Coco (wit). De stipjes zijn gemaakt met de achterkant van een satéprikker.

I used China Glaze Lemon Fizz (yellow), China Glaze Something Sweet (pink), China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint (mint) and Sephora Coco (white). I dotted with the back of a wooden skewer.
