China Claze Crackle Glaze - Broken Hearted ( and a little crackle-layering experiment )

I actually didn't want to buy the China Glaze Crackles because I didn't love them at first sight. I'm not on a no-buy, but I decided at the beginning of this year I would only place an international order if I really loved a polish. This included buying an international polish from a Dutch etailer, because the prices are higher. But I love a manicure that really looks different and the China Glaze crackles are bright and have an amazing effect, so I caved...

Ik was eigenlijk helemaal niet van plan om de China Glaze Crackles te kopen omdat ik er niet op slag verliefd op was. Ik ben niet op een no-buy, maar ik heb me aan het begin van het jaar wel voorgenomen dat ik alleen buitenlandse lakjes zou kopen als ik er gelijk gek op was. Dit geldt ook voor buitenlandse lakjes bestellen bij een nederlandse webshop, want die prijzen liggen hoger. Maar ik ben ook gek op een manicure die echt opvalt en anders dan anders is en de China Glaze crackles zijn lekker opvallend van kleur en geven een beel bijzonder effect, dus ik kon me toch niet inhouden...

Application
It's a littlebit thick, so I applied it a bit thin ( but not too thin! ) so I wouldn't get thick chunks of crackle on my nail. It cracked before I finished paining the entire nail. Watching these polishes crack never bores me, It's so much fun watching this paint dry.

Applicatie
Het is vrij dil, dus ik heb de lak redelijk dun ( mar niet té dun!) aangebracht zodat ik geen dikke brokken crackle op mn nagel zou hebben liggen. Het barsste al open voordat ik klaar was met het lakken van de hele lak, het is zo leuk om deze lak te zien drogen.

And the next day I wondered: Could you layer different crackles over eachother? Only one way to find out, so I decided to use Silver Shatter, as that goes well with everything. Let's get double cracking!!!

En de volgende dag vroeg ik me af: Kan je verschillende crackles over elkaar heen dragen? Er is maar één manier om daar achter te komen, dus ik heb Silver Shatter gebruikt, want die past overal leuk bij. Laten we het proberen!

Answer: Yes you can layer crackles!
It didn't make my mani more pretty or special, but it didn't look ugly and I wore it like this for two days ( also because I didn't have time to change it )

Antwoord: Ja je kan crackles over elkaar dragen!
Het maakte mijn mani niet extra mooi of speciaal, maarhet zag er ook niet raar uit en ik heb het gewoon nog twee dagen zo gedragen ( ook omdat ik geen tijd had om iets anders op te doen ).

It was on a lovely dinner with my 'Eppie', two sisters-in-law and sister, we had so much fun that night.
The mani matches the sangria perfectly ;-)

Dit was tijdens een leuk etentje met mijn 'Eppie', de schoonzussen en mn zusje, we hebben zo veel lol gehad die avond.
En de mani past perfect bij de sangria ;-)

OPI Silver Shatter ( over Color Club Revvvolution )

Last week I showed you Color Club's awesome black holo Revvvolution, I had very little time to post the next mani I did with that, but now I'm showing you Revvvolution + OPI Silver Shatter! Loved this combination eventhough the holo didn't really show up clearly, but the Silver Shatter was so sparkly that I really didn't mind.

Afgelopen week liet ik jullie de prachtige zwarte holo Revvvolution van Color Club zien, daarna had ik weinig tijd om de volgende post te plaatsen van de volgende mani die ik daarmee deed, maar nu heb ik voor jullie Revvvolution _ OPI Silver Shatter! Deze combinatie was echt leuk, ookal zag je de holo nauwelijks meer, maar de Silver Shatter is zo glimmend dat het me verder weinig kon schelen.

Color
Silver Shatter is a very sparkly silver, it's made of the tinyest shimmery particles that shine like crazy in the sun!

Kleur
Silver Shatter is een hele glimmende zilver, het is gemaakt van de allerkleinste stralende zilveren glimmetjes die echt mooi glitteren in de zon!

In the sun! Look at how it shines :-)

Application
Great, one coat gives an amazing coverage that slowly changes in an amazing crackle pattern allowing the base color to show through.

Applicatie
Geweldig, één laag geeft een perfect dekkend resultaat dat langzaam openbreekt in een mooi crackle patroon waardoor je de basislak er doorheen ziet.

I think this Silver Shatter is more 'wearable' then the other shatters/graffiti/crackles I own. I don't know why exactly, but maybe because the effect is less dramatic and the shiney silver looks a bit more luxurious.

Ik denk dat deze Silver Shatter its meer 'draagbaar' is dan andere shatters/graffiti/crackles die ik heb. Ik weet niet precies waarom, maar ikd enk dat dat komt omdat het effect met deze iets minder knallend is en omdat al dat glimmende silver het toch een beetje een wat luxe uitstraling geeft.

 OPI really did a great job on this shatter, it's pretty, wearable, but still gives you an edgy look.
Love this to 'pimp' a few day old mani if you haven't got the time to do a whole new mani.

OPI heeft goed haar best gedaan op deze shatter, het is mooi, draagbaar, maar geeft je toch die aparte look.
Deze is perfect om een paar dagen oude mani mee te pimpen als je geen tijd hebt om een hele nieuwe mani te doen.

OPI's from Ebay: spot the fake OPI Silver Shatter!

Like almost everyone else I desperatey wanted the OPI Silver Shatter ( and my mom had been begging me to buy her one too ), ofcourse it was immediately sold out at all etailers that ship to Europe so there was only one place left to go...Ebay
I decided to buy both bottles from a different seller, hoping at least one would be real. The first bottle I received was perfect, the second bottle not so much ...just take a look for yourself:

Net als bijna iedereen wilde ik de OPI Silver Shatter erg graag hebben ( en mijn moeder smeekte me ook al een hele tijd om een flesje ), natuurlijk was het direct uitverkocht bij alle etailers die naar Europa verzenden dus was er nog maar één plek waar ik terecht kon...Ebay
Ik besloot om allebei de flesjes bij een andere verkoper te kopen, voor als één van hen namaak verkocht. Het eerste flesje dat ik ontving was perfect, het tweede flesje niet...kijk zelf maar:

I marked the one I think is fake with a red arrow. The one I think is the real deal is marked with a green arrow.

As you can see clearly they have a different label attached

Ik heb degene waarvan ik denk dat die namaak is aangegeven met een rode pijl. degene waarvan ik denk dat die wel echt is heeft een groene pijl.

Zoals je duidelijk ziet hebben ze een verschillend kaartje aan het flesje

- The shatter design on the cap of the suspected fake bottle isn't placed neatly, it has a gap at the bottle of the cap ( see upper arrow )
- The bottle of the fake? shatter is slightly bigger
- The font of the assumed fake is thinner, the real one as a more bold font (middle arrow )
- The real bottle has a serial number on the bottom of the bottle where the suspected fake one hasn't (lower arrow )

- Het shatter patroon op de dop van het vermoedelijk namaak flesje is er slordig op geplakt, er is een hele rand vrij aan de onderkant van de dop ( zie bovenste pijl )
- Het flesje onechte? shatter is iets groter
- Het lettertype van de vermoedelijke namaak is dunner, de echte heeft wat dikkere letters ( middelste pijl )
- Het echte flesje heeft een serienummer onderaan het flesje, de waarschijnlijk nepperd heeft dat niet (laagste pijl )

This picture doesn't even need explanation. They were probably in a hurry getting all the (suspected) fakies ones on Ebay and didn't have time to apply that sticker neatly.

Deze foto heeft niet eens uitleg nodig. Ze hadden waarschijnlijk haast om al die (vermoedelijke) nepperds op Ebay te zetten en hadden geen tijd om die dop netjes te beplakken.

All real OPI's I own have a barcode on the bottom, so another reason to think the bottle with the red arrow is fake.

Alle echte OPI's die ik heb, hebben een streepjescode aan de onderkant van het flesje, dus dit is nog een reden om te denken dat het flesje met de rode pijl niet echt is.

And now the final test: can you see which is the real and wich is probably the fake OPI Silver Shatter???
I can honestly tell you there is no difference in the polish itself and I can't remember which one is on which nail. They look exactly the same, smell the same, give the same nice crackle pattern and both very pretty.
So do I feel bad giving my mom the fake Silver Shatter? Hell no, the bottle is slightly bigger and the polish looks just the same as the real one, she won't suspect a thing! ;-)

En nu de belangrijkste test: Kijk goed en vertel me wat is de echte OPI en wat is wellicht een nepperd???
Ik kan je heel eerlijk vertellen dat ik geen verschil zie en daarom ook niet meer weet welke ik op welke nagel heb gedaan. Ze zijn precies hetzelfde, ruiken hetzelfde, geven hetzelfde leuke patroon en zijn allebei mooi.
Dus schaam ik me dat ik de onechte aan mijn moeder heb gegeven? Echt niet, dat flesje is ietsje groter en ze ziet toch het verschil niet! ;-)

So if you go shopping on Ebay, know there are fakes lurking around there, but on your nail you can't see the difference! ( I bought the real one from Ezbeauty2010 )

Dus als je gaat winkelen op Ebay, hou er rekening mee dat er stiekem ook nepperds tussen verstopt zitten, maar op je nagel zie je het verschil niet! ( ik heb de echte gekocht bij EZbeauty2010 )

Fun summer mani with neons, shatter and glitter!!!

Do you remember all the fun neons we used to get in the summercollections? I was hoping there would be some new fresh neons this year. But this year we only got some from Color Club, which I didn't buy beceause they looked like other neons fron the same brand I already own. So I used some of my 'old' Color Club neons to make a fun summer mani.

Kan je je nog herinneren dat we leuke neons kregen in de zomer collecties? Ik hoopte dat we dit jaar weer wat nieuwe frisse neonkleurtjes zouden krijgen. Dit jaar heeft alleen Color Club wat neons uitgebracht, maar die leken sprekend op oudere lakjes van hetzelfde merk, dus heb ik er geen van gekocht. Daarom heb ik mijn 'oude' Color Club neons gebruikt om een vrolijke zomer mani te maken.

Polishes used:
Base: China Glaze - White on White (a white base makes the neons extra bright )
Yellow: Color Club Yell-Oh!
Orange: Color Club - Orange Revenge
Pink: Color Club Screamin' Fuchsia
+ OPI's Black Shatter
& China Glaze - Fairy Dust

I've seen other bloggers doing mani's with multiple neons together and then stamped with the Konad leopard print. That is where I got the idea for this mani from. So thank you for the inspiration if you are one of those bloggers!

Ik heb bij andere bloggers wel eens mani's gezien waarbij ze meerdere neons hadden gebruikt en daarna hadden gestempeld met het panterprintje van Konad. Zo kwam ik op het idee om deze mani te doen. Dus als jij één van die bloggers bent dan wil ik je bij deze hartelijk bedanken voor de inspiratie.

If you don't live in the Netherlands you probably don't know this, but we are having the hottest April in over 300 years! The Netherlands is the warmest country in Europe right now, better then in Spain of Greece! Almost every day temperatures round 24 degrees Celsius ( 75 Fahrenheit ), lots of sun, almost no rain...it's insane! And I love it! Usually we only have this kind of weather (if we are lucky!) in july of august. So you'll understand I was in the mood for a bright summer mani!

Ohhh lieveschatten wat is het toch heerlijk weer he? Heb je ook gehoord dat het de warmste april is in ruim 300 jaar en dat we het warmste land van Europa zijn op dit moment? Dat is toch te gek voor woorden? Ik word hier wel héél erg blij van hoor en vandaar dat ik dus ook erg in de stemming was voor een felle zomer mani!

The bright nails matched nicely with my black and yellow 'Black Ice Glam Pie' Pastry sneakers!
I love my Pastry sneakers, they are so comfortable and colorful. Unfortunately there aren't many stores here that carry this brand and they usually don't have a large collection, but I'm certainly going to buy more! (click the link above to see why)

De felle nageltjes paste leuk bij mijn zwart met gele 'Black Ice Glam Pie' Pastry sneakers.
Ik ben echt gek op mijn Pastry sneakertjes, ze zitten echt heerlijk en ze zijn zo kleurig. Jammer genoeg zijn er niet heel veel winkels die ze verkopen, maar ik ga er wel zeker meer van kopen! (klik op de link hier boven om te zien waarom )

 The best thing about this mani ( besides that I loved looking at it all the time )? It lasted for 6 days without chipping and I got compliments about it each day! I don't paint my nails to get compliments, but it is nice if someone notices my mani and takes the effort to say something about it.

Wat is het beste aan deze mani ( naast dat ik er de hele tijd blij naar zat te kijken)? Het zat zes dagen perfect zonder beschadigingen en ik heb er iedere dag complimentjes over gekregen! Niet dat ik mijn nagels lak om complimentjes te krijgen, maar het is wél leuk als iemand je mani opmerkt en de moeite neemt om er iets over te zeggen.
