December Glitter #2: Playing With Isadora Graffiti Nails Masterpiece Pink

So I was home alone when I created these swatches. I wanted to try out the pink Isadora Graffiti polish over different colors and after that I just kept adding different glitters like a madwoman which didn't benefit the endresult. Sometimes I just don't know when enough is enough. Ah well, we all have those days don't we?

Dus ik was lekker alleen thuis toen ik deze swatches maakte. Ik wilde de roze Isadora Graffiti nagellak proberen over verschillende kleuren en daarna ben ik als een gek met glitters eroverheen gegaan wat geen positief effect had op het resultaat. Soms weet ik gewoon niet wanneer ik moet stoppen. Achja, we hebben allemaal wel eens van die dagen toch?

As you can see the Graffiti polish dries matte and a little bit chunky. Nothing a good topcoat can't solve.
It's very important to let your basecolor dry before you apply the Graffiti polish. If the basecolor is too wet the Graffiti polish drags pieces of the base with it when it dries to it's crackling effect.

Zoals je kan zien droogt de Graffiti lak matte op en is het vrij dik. Dit is makkelijk opgelost met een goede topcoat.
Het is erg belangrijk om de basiskleur goed te laten drogen voordat je de Graffiti lak opsmeert. Als de basis te nat is dan trekken gedeeltes van die basis kleur mee als de Graffiti lak opdroogt tot dat gebarsten effect.

After that I needed to add some glitter, I thought it would be fun for my December Glitter- theme.
I put on two different glitterpolishes and after that I randomly placed some Nfu Oh nailart holographic flakies on it. Especially that last addition was totally unneccesary.

Daarna moest ik er glitters overheen doen, dat leek me leuk voor mijn December Glitter -thema.
Er zitten twee lagen glitterlak overheen en ik heb ook nog willekeurig wat grove Nfu Oh nailart losse holografische flakies overheen gedaan. Vooral die laatste waren echt niet nodig geweest.

I really like these crackling polishes, but I think I like the darker colors better, the effect is much more dramatic. This pink/pastel/colorful thing I did here might have been more interesting last spring.
Maybe when I wear this pink Graffiti polish as a full mani, I should wear it over a black or blackened polish. Yeah I think that would be more my style.

Ik vind deze gebarsten lakjes echt heel leuk, maar ik denk dat ik donkerdere kleuren wel leuker vind, die hebben een veel dramatischer effect. De roze/pastel/gekleurde toestand wat ik hier gemaakt heb zou misschien afgelopen lente meer interessant zijn geweest.
Als ik deze roze Graffiti lak als volledige mani ga dragen dan zal ik deze waarschijnlijk over een zwarte of andere hele donkere lak dragen. Jah dat moet ik doen, volgens mij is dat meer mijn stijl.

Because of the December Glitter- theme I decided to pose with one of my Christmas garlands. It looks better when I hang it in my tree later this week ;-)

Vanwege het December Glitter- thema heb ik een foto gemaakt met één van mijn kerstslingers. De slinger staat leuker in de boom als ik die later deze week ga versieren ;-)

Graffiti, Pool Party & bling ( sounds like the concept of a wild party...or a wild mani )

This is a mani from exactly a month ago, yes, I'm very behind. It was absolutely amazing to wear this, the graffiti effect is unique and no two nails are the same.

Dit is een mani van exact een maand geleden, ja ik loop erg achter. Het was echt geweldig om dit te dragen, het graffiti effect is uniek en niet twee nagels zijn hetzelfde.

Base: China Glaze - Pool Party

Effect: Isadora Graffiti Nails - Black Tag

Top: China Glaze - Wireless Holographic Topcoat

The look of the graffiti effect depends on how thick you apply the polish. So you can go for a subtle or a dramatic effect with this. Look at the picture below: see the left pinky above in the picture? It has a thin stripey effect, that's because I applied the polish thin. The other nails have big chunks of graffiti effect, that's because I applied a thick coat of griffiti polish on the nail.

Hoe je graffiti effect eruit komt te zien hangt af van hoe dik je deze lak aanbrengt. Je kan gaan voor een subtiel effect of een dramatisch effect. Kijk naar de foto die je hier beneden ziet: zie je mijn linker pink bovenin de foto? Het heeft een dun streperig graffiti effect, dat komt omdat ik hierop een dun laagje lak had gesmeerd. De rest van de nagels hebben een redelijk grof graffiti effect, dat komt doordat ik daarop een lekkere dikke laag lak op heb gesmeerd.

The graffiti nailpolish dries in a few seconds, so when applying this polish...be quick or the crackling effect starts before you are finished painting your nail. Oh and be sure that your basecolor has dried almost completely before you apply the graffiti polish or it drags the basecolor with it and you get bald spots.

Deze graffiti lak droogt in een paar seconden, dus wees snel met het lakken hiermee of het effect barst al los terwijl je nog aan het lakken bent. Oh en zorg ervoor dat je basiskleur al vrijwel helemaal droog is voordat je die graffiti lak erop smeert andres trekt de graffiti lak bij het drogen de basislaag mee en dan heb je kale plekken.

Because the graffiti polish dries matte and with a noticable texture you'll want to slap on a nice glossy topcoat. Ofcourse that wasn't enough for me, so I used holographic topcoat and after that some Seche Vite.

Omdat de graffiti nagellak matte opdroogt en met het effect als een duidelijk profiel op je nagel, wil je er wel een lekkere dikke laag topcoat op smeren. Uiteraard was dat nog niet genoeg voor me, dus ik heb eerst een holografische topcoat opgedaan en daarna nog een laag Seche Vite.

This mani had me entertained for four days and still when I look at these pictures I love the mani.

I should use graffiti polish again real soon, I still have a light pink one and a red one I haven't used yet and I have some nice things I would like to try out with those...

But for now, the last of the pictures of this graffiti mani:

Deze mani heeft me 4 dagen vermaakt en als ik nu naar de foto's kijk ben ik er weer helemaal blij mee.

Ik moet snel maar snel weer wat doen met graffiti nagellak, ik heb nog een licht roze en een rode die nog niet gebruikt zijn en ik heb al wel wat leuke dingen bedacht die ik daarmee zou willen uitproberen.

Trying out my new Isadora Graffiti Nailpolish

A week or two ago my mom and I went shopping in Germany. Earlier that week I read about a graffiti nailpolish from Isadora that could be bought in a beautystore there, so ofcourse I had to check that out and I bought two of them!

een week of twee geleden ging ik met mijn moeder winkelen in Duitland. Toevallig had ik eerder die week gelezen dat je daar bij de Douglas graffiti nagellak van Isadora kon kopen dus dat heb ik gedaan en heb er twee gekocht!
Ofcourse I had to try it out the next day over different polishes and I took some pictures for you to see. So this is not a full mani, just me playing with polishes. I haven't tried it yet as a full mani, but I'll have to do that real soon.

Natuurlijk moest ik het de volgende dag gelijk proberen over verschillende lakken en daar heb ik een paar foto's van gemaakt. Dit is dus geen echte manicure ofzo, ik was gewoon wat aan het spelen. Ik heb de graffiti lak nog niet als volledige mani gedragen, maar dat ga ik wel zeer snel doen.
As soon als you apply the polish you immediately see it cracking and getting that distinct pattern And as you can see the graffiti polish dries matte.

Zodra je de lak aanbrengt zie je gelijk hoe de lak scheurt en dat specifieke patroon verschijnen. Zoals je ziet droogt de graffiti lak matte op.

De red nail was painted perfectly, but when the graffiti polish was drying to that pattern it dragged some of the red polish with it. I guess I didn't wait long enough for the red polish to dry.
De rode nagellak was keurig opgedaan, maar toen de graffiti lak opdroogde en in dat graffitipatroon trok, sleepte het wat van de rode lak met zich mee. Ik denk dat ik de rode lak langer had moeten laten drogen.
